Ah, yes, the Design 100 challenge. I haven’t touch this since last March I believe.

Failed miserably. This is an attempt to get back into the creative free flow of the tools at hand. thought I would go back and brush up on my PS and AI skills; rediscover what some of the filters and effects can achieve.

#4

I have grossly neglected my challenge to myself. I am just putting up post #4 for the Design100! This year has gone by a lot faster than I anticipated. I can’t believe it’s March & it’s snowing in March here in Atlanta! Wow…

So, this time around I some decided to take on somewhat of a project for a print design that would be fun. Again, I’m using my favorite thirds grid. The call to action is not what I would have liked it to be copy wise. I think the hierarchy flows well from top bottom guiding the reader along.

I need to get back to doing more of these things.

Sketch Part 1

I’ve been slacking with my Design100 project. So today I’ve decided to hook up the wacom and see what comes out. I haven’t drawn anything in ages, let alone with the stylus. After what seemed to be a few minutes—turned out to be more than two hours—I started to get the hang of the tablet. This is what came out. Yea….  I’ll add  color and some background detail another day. I’ve exceed the 2 hour time limit I’ve put on these projects.

It’s great getting back to drawing and sketching! I think I’ll call him Mister Ed for now.

Ed’s left side is really bugging me. I’ll have to fix that when I go back in.

Rise #2

Going with a theme here. Seeing where it will end up. As usual, a bit larger version.

This is the second in the design100 series. Still using a simple grid based on the rule of thirds. I’ll be experimenting with other layouts & grids. Do you know how hard it is to make bubbles look random?

DESIGN100 — A personal promise to get more creative work done. Posts will usually be some kind of art or design comp.

This is the first of many. I’ll be creating all kinds of stuff to brush up on my design skills. This is link for a larger version.

I might just paint this one.
